Creality Falcon2 Pro 22W/40W Enclosed Laser Engraver and Cutter

This would have been a 5 star review except that my Falcon 2 Pro 22W was delivered with a manufacturing fault! The extract fan socket was missing from the PCB. Creality reacted fast and sent me a replacement PCB rather than the complete light strip assembly, but I managed that. The X-axis arm was also out of alignment but a good YouTube video sorted that out easily enough.
Now its working the results have been stunning. I am using LightBurn from the start and have already produced a batch of 100 Christmas Elves; Nativity scenes and French Cleat Tool hangers for the workshop in the space of 2 days. Couldn't be happier - so far - lets hope that the long term service is a constant and good.

I've been using the Falcon2 Pro for a couple of weeks now, and I must say, it's perfect for my small business. The build quality is excellent, and the enclosed structure gives me peace of mind when operating it for extended periods. It's easy to set up and the software is quite intuitive. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a reliable and efficient engraver.

On Today's episode of laser etched canvas frustrations! Haha
I prepped a few canvases with 3 colors - white, grey, and black. These canvases were painted using rustoleum 2x paint and primer. My other canvases were done with glidden spray paint ( which is much thinner per sprayed coat ). I did 3 coats of white, 2 coats of grey and 1 heavy coat of black.
Being the rustoleum 2x paint is much thicker per sprayed coat I accumulated alot more paint on the canvas than I was used to and guess what, none of my canvas settings worked 😢.
What I learned is not every photo will look good processed as a greyscale and vice versa. These AI eyeballs were too detailed and the paint to thick to work as a greyscale with much detail. I found that using a dithered method works better and allows more detail with these images.
These are 3 images done different ways, 3 are greyscale and 3 are dithered. 2 dithered in imagr and 1 dithered in lightburn. 3"x3" canvas panels.

After upgrading to the Falcon2 Pro, I've noticed a significant improvement in both speed and accuracy compared to my previous machine. The enclosed design is not only safer but also helps to keep the workspace tidy. The results are consistently sharp, making this a fantastic addition to my workshop. Well done, Creality!

Finally got to do something with my new Creality falcon 2 pro 22w. Some slate coasters for a BBQ today at a friend's house. Huge difference from the 5w I was using 😆. Did all 6 at the same time and took just about 90 minutes.
